Navigating Through Uncertainty:
Taking care of our People, our Customers and our Communities.
In this uncertain landscape, one thing that will always remain consistent is our need for a safe and continuous food supply. At Kerry, we’re doing everything we can to make sure we help meet that need. We recognise that we have an important role to play throughout this crisis and are working with our customers to ensure the continuous flow of food to tables everywhere.
Across the globe, Kerry teams have taken on challenges to ensure the safety of all our employees and continued support for customers to ensure the global food supply chain remains intact for consumers. Throughout this turbulent time, our purpose, Inspire Food & Nourish Life, has been at the core of every decision we have made and our values have been our guide as we work to achieve our three goals:
- Safeguard the health and safety of our employees;
- Ensure continuity of supply for our customers;
- Support our local communities.
Health and Safety of our Employees
We have teams working diligently to ensure the safety and the wellbeing of our people, including zoning, segregation and use of protective equipment across our global footprint of 150 manufacturing plants. Our crisis management team has been working since January on our people response.
Playbooks have been used by our plants and facilities across the globe and are updated as new learnings are codified and transferred across the organisation.
We have supported our employees with regular updates, webinars, team meetings and we have activated technology solutions to ensure our people are connected and engaged. Our wellness content has been accessed by thousands of our employees and we are running seminars with external partners on leading teams in a ‘virtual’ world.
Supporting our Customers
We continue to work with our customers to help keep the world's food supply intact. Our RD&A and Regulatory Teams have played an essential role in this effort. We are working with our customers, sharing insights and responding with agility to emerging consumer trends, adapting offerings across channels and categories. Our enzyme technology is being used in COVID-19 testing kits, and we are sharing our learnings as we remain focused on being our customers' most valued partner. We are also partnering with customers on post COVID product launches, engaging in virtual commercial and RD&A meetings, and providing ongoing support and information as required. Additional resources can be found here.
Supporting our Communities
Kerry has a long tradition of supporting community initiatives and recently employees at many of our facilities have been working with their local communities to support local charities and frontline workers - donating PPE and food to frontline workers, food to the vulnerable, and producing hand sanitiser in our factories for our people and local health authorities. The MyCommunity programme combines Kerry’s resources and expertise to support employees in volunteering with locally-led community initiatives which directly support food, nutrition and health. In addition to providing up to 26,000 paid volunteer days, we have pledged a €1m community fund to further assist with local initiatives.
